KASA’s March food distribution went out to families across the region last week, carried by volunteers who showed up early on a Saturday morning and did not leave until every package was loaded and every delivery confirmed. This is what the end of winter looks like from inside the organization: tired, logistically complex, and deeply satisfying.
This month’s distribution included staple foods — rice, lentils, canned tomatoes, cooking oil — as well as fresh vegetables from a halal grocer who donated a portion of the purchase. The fresh produce makes a real difference. Many of the families in our distribution network have limited access to fresh vegetables because of cost and transportation, and a bag of fresh onions, tomatoes, and herbs is not just nutritionally valuable — it makes a meal feel like a meal rather than just sustenance.
Thank you to every volunteer who gave their Saturday and to every donor whose contribution funded this distribution. The next campaign is already in planning. If you want to be part of it — as a volunteer, a donor, or both — reach out through the contact page.
