The Kurdish American community calendar is more active than many people outside the community realize. From Nashville to San Diego, from Houston to Washington D.C., Kurdish organizations and community groups are holding events throughout the year — Newroz celebrations in March, Eid gatherings in spring and early summer, cultural festivals in fall, fundraising events in winter.
KASA maintains awareness of events happening in the cities where we have community networks, and we try to publicize them through our social media channels and newsletter. If you are a Kurdish American who has felt disconnected from community life, the calendar is a place to start. There is almost certainly something happening within a reasonable distance of you that you do not know about.
If your organization is holding an event that you would like KASA to publicize, reach out through our contact page. We are happy to help spread the word about events that bring Kurdish Americans together, regardless of which organization is organizing them. The goal is community, not credit.
