Partnering with Local Organizations to Maximize Aid Impact

No single organization can serve the full range of needs in a dispersed, multi-city community. KASA has learned this through experience. There are things we do well — Kurdish-specific food aid, community events, language programming — and things that are better done by organizations with deeper expertise in specific areas like housing, mental health, or workforce development.

Our partnership approach is based on this recognition. When a Kurdish family needs housing assistance beyond what KASA can provide, we connect them to resettlement agencies and housing organizations that have the capacity and expertise. When a community member needs mental health support, we have relationships with organizations that can serve Kurdish-speaking clients. These connections do not happen automatically — they require KASA staff to build and maintain relationships with partner organizations over time.

The benefit flows in both directions. Partners gain access to KASA’s community networks and the trust we have built with Kurdish families who might not otherwise engage with mainstream social services. KASA gains access to capacity and expertise we could not develop on our own. The families we serve get more comprehensive support than either organization could provide alone.
