Qurban 2025: KASA’s Eid al-Adha Aid Campaign in Review

kasakurdan@gmail.com December 1, 2025

Qurban — the ritual sacrifice performed during Eid al-Adha — is one of the five pillars of Islamic practice for those who can afford it, and one of the most powerful expressions of communal generosity in the Muslim calendar. The obligation to share the meat with those in need is built into the holiday itself: one third goes to the family that performs the sacrifice, one third to neighbors and friends, one third to the poor. KASA’s Qurban program organizes this third at scale.

For Eid al-Adha 2025, KASA coordinated the collection of Qurban donations from community members who wanted to fulfill the obligation but could not arrange the sacrifice themselves. The collected funds were used to purchase and process meat that was then distributed to families in need across multiple cities. Every family that received a package received it in the spirit it was given: as a gift from the community, in fulfillment of a religious and cultural obligation that connects the giver and the receiver.

KASA thanks everyone who participated in the 2025 campaign. The families who received meat for Eid asked us to carry their gratitude back to the community. We do so, and we look forward to doing this work again.
