47 IT Graduates in Rojava: A Milestone for KASA’s Education Programs

kasakurdan@gmail.com October 2, 2025

Forty-seven students completed the latest cycle of KASA’s IT education program in Rojava, earning certifications in C#, Scratch, and PHP. The number matters, but what matters more is who these students are: young people who grew up in conditions that gave them few advantages and who nonetheless put in the work to complete a rigorous technical training program.

The graduates range in age and background. Some have university education in unrelated fields and are retraining for better economic prospects. Others are younger, taking their first structured professional training. What they share is the completion of a curriculum that requires real intellectual effort — writing programs, debugging code, building projects that do what they are supposed to do. The certification they earned represents actual demonstrated ability, not just attendance.

KASA is proud of this milestone and is committed to expanding the program. The next cycle will serve more students, and we are working to develop pathways that connect graduates to freelance opportunities, to remote work, and to mentors in the Kurdish diaspora who can help them build careers. The goal is not certificates — it is livelihoods.
